My approach to photography and retouching is based entirely on what I feel a portrait really is and should be.  I believe a portrait should show us as the world sees us - as our friends and family see us. If you're large, no I will not make you skinny. If you're bald, I will not give you hair. If you're small chested, I will not give you CGI silicone. What I will do is smooth out those problems that we don't see face to face but do see when staring at a photograph. As the owner, photographer, and sole retoucher at CDI Fotografi, I think everyone can use a little extra attention to look their best. After all, that's why we dress up in nice clothes, get hair cuts, and trim our nails. It's why men shave and women put on makeup.

Having said that, when we get our photo taken, we can still use a little more help! The reason for that is the camera is incredibly cruel. It shows us what we don't see in real life. A still photo such as these samples of Kylie gives us time to study a person the way we cannot in real life. We can concentrate on every little detail, every little flaw - and we all have flaws! In real life, however, we're constantly moving and therefore cannot be studied so carefully. We also tend to overlook all but the most glaring of human flaws when gazing at others.

Below you will see two images. At first, the original photo will load and display. Hover your mouse over the image to see the retouched photograph. You don't have to click, but please allow a few seconds for it to load. This photo sample is a full scale crop of the entire image - it is not sized down to hide flaws!

Now, that's at full scale. But what about smaller images? Surely it doesn't matter for web display since those pics are smashed down to a tiny size anyway, right? It makes sense in theory, but here is the same photo as above, except in a size you would likely upload to facebook for your friends to view:

As you can see, Kylie is a gorgeous young lady without any extra retouching. However, you can also see upon mouseover that the extra attention to detail pays off even at this small size. Just imagine how lovely the retouched photo is as a large print!

This extra attention to detail is why I believe you should consider my studio, CDI Fotografi, for all of your wedding, portrait, and glamour photography needs.
