Hi! My name is Don! I started CDI Fotografi back in 2005. Believe it or not, my interest in photography began out of a need for better eBay photos. I didn't learn it as a kid with my grandpa giving me my first Kodak Brownie or anything like that.
Don't let my rather unexciting beginnings fool you. I didn't just get bitten by the bug...it swallowed me whole! It's really all I think about anymore...which is pretty much as geeky as a kid who never gets off his xBox. I like it though, especially when someone thanks me.
One of the reasons that I require a significant deposit is so that I can drive around looking for a location that hasn't been used before. I spend a lot of time (and burn a lot of gas!) preparing for every session so that no two are alike. My opinion is that it's kind of boring to see people from completely different sessions in front of the same background. I like to think that, as a creative professional, I can be more original than that. You might even say it's a personal challenge to see how I can up the ante instead of sitting back, taking the easy way out, and repeating what I have already done. I don't get a strong feeling of accomplishment from repetition.
You could even say my approach is quite like the moving making process: You and I coordinate the shoes, clothes, hair, and makeup and I go find places to shoot that match your personal story and the looks we agreed upon. I always scout with my cameraphone, so I may even send you snaps of the location I have in mind to make sure we're on the same page. You'll find I'm the most collaborative photographer around.
I photograph high school senior portraits mostly but I also do the occasional prom, model portfolio, and boudoir. I'm ridiculously energetic and I make sure that above all, you're having fun. I'm pretty connected so you can call, text, email, and/or facebook message me. I'll always respond as quickly as I possibly can.
I have many beautiful items that can be created from your special moments. Please visit the links under "Extras" at left for details. You can also download the PDF version of my catalog under "Want the Extras?" |
